FAQ

Some blades are so much run out, they can´t be resharpened.
In that case we will simply send back the sawblade to you and refund your payment.

Technically not possible:

  • Not enough carbide left on the teeth
  • Too heavily bend.

Uneconomically to resharpen:

  • Too many teeth are broken. (We will replace up to 3 teeth included in the price. When more teeth need replacement, it becomes uneconomical to replace them.)

Yes, up to 3 tip-replacements are included in the price.

As of today we exclusively offer resharpening for Festool saw blades but we might open our service to other saw blades in the future.

We are cleaning the sawblades in an ultrasonic bath. That does occasionally wash off the Festool imprints as well as the yellow mark which stands for wood sawing. Don´t worry, that does not affect the quality of the saw blade.

As of today we only resharpen saw blades but we are heavily working on a solution for our drills and router bits. We will keep you updated on developments in that area.

Visit our how to pack section to get further information.

Festool saw blades are designed with an extra thick layer of carbide, making them capable of being resharpened up to 8 times.

However, the frequency of resharpening will depend on how often and how intensively you use your saw blade. If you send your saw blades in for resharpening regularly, less carbide will need to be removed each time to restore the blade's sharpness. A sharp blade will last longer than a dull one, so regular resharpening will extend the lifetime of your saw blade.

No, you typically do not need to replace the splinterguard when resharpening a saw blade. The splinterguard remains effective as long as it's in good condition. If your splinterguard becomes damaged or worn over time, you can consider replacing it, but routine resharpening of the blade does not require splinterguard replacement.

We are using Purolator as our carrier. We are looking forward to provide further shipping options in the future.
